Digital Lock Company Apologises to Ryan Lian For Posting Allegedly Defamatory Video About Him

A digital lock company has publicly apologized to actor Ryan Lian for posting an allegedly  defamatory video about him following an incident three months ago.

Here’s what happened.

Digital Lock Company Apologises to Ryan Lian For Posting Allegedly Defamatory Video About Him

The company, Zansan Digital Lock, posted a TikTok video on 22 September, allegedly claiming that Lian had tried to break into three homes.

According to Shin Min Daily News, in the now-deleted video, a man claimed Lian used a “black box” device to successfully open the doors of two units, while the third unit remained secure because it used Zansan’s products.

The incident was probably inspired from a 17 September case where Lian was arrested under the Mental Health Act after allegedly attempting to break into an electronic lock at Block 93B Tiong Bahru Road.

The resident was startled by the incident and called the police.

In their apology letter posted on TikTok, Zansan Digital Lock admitted that their written and verbal statements about Lian were completely false and baseless.

The company has since removed the related video.

The company offered an unreserved apology for any damage to Neo’s reputation and business interests. They also withdrew all false allegations and promised not to make any future defamatory statements about him.

In the comment section on the apology video, Ryan Lian has chimed in, and he isn’t happy with the music:

He said, “Do you know how much pain I’ve been in these past three months? Do you know how much impact your video has had on my life? Do you know how hard I’ve been trying to keep living? I’ve worked so hard to build my career, but your one video destroyed my 24 years of effort? What’s with the music?”

The music used is a sped-up version of “I Like You The Most”, which appears to sound upbeat and “cutesy”.
