Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen, 61, is one of those proud dads who loves sharing about his kids.
Donnie and wife, former model Cissy Wang, 43, have two kids, 21-year-old daughter Jasmine, and 17-year-old son, James, and he would post about their achievements as well as snippets of their performances on social media.
Jasmine is a budding singer, while James is a piano prodigy.
Recently, Donnie and Cissy made an appearance at a luxury boutique opening where they shared with the media about their fashion styles.
Donnie revealed that they have similar styles and he also picks out his son’s daily outfits as the teen dresses too casually.
He said James is now 1.83m-tall, slim and naturally good-looking, thanks to his mother’s genes (she’s 1.81m-tall, while Donnie’s 1.73m), and looks like a Korean star.
He’s popular with the girls, and they “even pursue him”, shared Donnie.
He went on to sing praises of his son’s musical talent.
“After my son watches a musical, he immediately goes home to play the songs on the piano while my daughter sings along. My wife and I will just laugh — he’s really talented,” gushed Donnie.
Though Donnie is an accomplished classical pianist himself, he joked that James thinks he is not as good.
“Actually, I can sing quite okay, but they are too good,” he said.
When asked if he would have a collaborate with James in future, Donnie shared that what matters most is that his kids are healthy, and that he won’t pressure them.
“Now [James] needs to focus on his studies, my wife prioritises their education more,” he averred, adding that James can consider producing music for movies in the future.
