Eason Chan Fainted From Heatstroke While Playing Tennis; Fractured Cheekbone & Has To Cancel His Concerts

With the weather becoming unbearably hot these days, it’s really important to drink up and hydrate yourself, especially when exercising.

Someone really should have reminded Eason Chan that.

Earlier today (Jun 11), it was announced that the 49-year-old’s Fear and Dreams World Tour concerts in Chongqing later this month (Jun 14-16, 21-23) have been postponed.

The reason?

The star had fainted after suffering heatstroke while playing tennis outdoors yesterday. When he collapsed onto the ground, he fell face first and broke his chin.

According to the official statement shared on the Fear and Dreams World Tour Facebook page, Eason was immediately sent to the hospital after the accident.

There, the doctors informed Eason that he had a fracture on his cheekbone and that the cut on his chin was so deep they could see bone.

He was then sent for surgery where he received over 30 stitches on his chin. His condition has stabilised and he is receiving treatment from a specialised medical team.

“The doctor advised him to recuperate for at least three weeks, and hence the six shows in Chongqing will be postponed to 2025,” read the statement.

Details of the postponement and compensation arrangements will be announced at a later date by the concert organiser.

“We are deeply sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience brought to the fans. We hope everyone can give Eason more support and let him recover in peace, so that he can meet everyone soon in the near future,” they wrote.

Last month, Eason postponed his concerts in Hangzhou due to health reasons.

At that time, the star went on stage to inform the audience that he wouldn’t be able to sing due to issues with his vocal cords.

He tearfully apologised and shared that his vocal cords had become inflamed during rehearsal and had worsened an hour before the concert.
