Earlier this week, former Mediacorp actress Carole Lin, 52, took to Instagram to recount a freak accident which left her terribly injured.
Describing the incident as “traumatic and graphic”, Carole wrote: “I was walking along some shop houses looking for a place to have lunch. Was looking at a restaurant across the road and missed a step. One foot went crashing down with unprepared awareness and went “crack” (sic).”
She continued: “I found myself sitting on the ground with a sprained right ankle and on the left leg – a foot hanging lifeless… oozing blood, snapped fibula poking through my calf… and tibia shattered.”
Carole said she was in “excruciating pain” and screamed for help.
As traumatising as the accident was, Carole is taking her injuries in her stride, adding that she is “humbled by the universe’s way of telling [her] there’s more out there to learn and appreciate”.
She had surgery and received treatment at Parkway East Hospital and is now back home recuperating.
Carole’s showbiz pals, Yvonne Lim, Huang Biren, and Joy Yak recently paid Carole a visit.
Biren, who turned 56 on March 7, shared in an IG post that she had arranged to visit Carole with Yvonne and that the latter surprising her with a birthday cake and home-cooked Taiwanese braised meat.
She then added: “We had a great catch up and great to see Carole taking things well… staying very positive… here’s wishing her a speedy recovery!”
Carole also received plenty of well wishes from her other celeb friends, including Lin Meijiao, Hong Huifang, Aileen Tan, Yao Wenlong, and Cavin Soh.
