Ex TVB Actor Chun Wong, 76, Now Lives In A Nursing Home, Relies On Social Assistance To Get By

In March this year, veteran Hong Kong actor Chun Wong, 76, was hospitalised after suffering a fall in a hotel room where he had been living alone for the past few years.

In addition to a leg injury, Chun Wong, best known for his supporting roles in TVB dramas like the different adaptations of The Return of the Condor Heroes, was also found to be suffering from anaemia and malnutrition.

Following his discharge from hospital, the wheelchair-bound actor, who had previously admitted to having a strained relationship with his four children, was placed in a nursing home where he will be cared for.

In a recent interview with Hong Kong media HK01, Chun Wong shared that he has been living in a nursing home for the past two months and is still adapting to life there.

Though the food doesn’t quite suit his taste, he acknowledged it is better than living alone in a hotel where he struggled to manage daily tasks due to his condition.

His savings have been depleted and with the help of social workers, he was able to apply for social assistance, which covers his nursing home fees and other expenses.
