Former TVB actress Grace Wong, 38, got her start in showbiz after coming in second at the Miss Hong Kong 2007 pageant. The recipient of the Miss Photogenic and Miss International Goodwill titles went on to star in many dramas, and is best known for playing Fa Man in A Fist Within Four Walls (2016).
She left TVB in 2021 after 14 years with the broadcaster.
Recently, Grace launched Amira Academy, a training establishment aimed at boosting a woman’s self-worth.
Following her announcement, Grace said: “I can honestly tell you that behind the scenes, it’s now extremely tough to have self-love, and to be confident. It’s especially so with the influence of social media, the fast-paced lives we lead, and the insurmountable work stress we face. Depression and anxiety has become so common, so much so that it’s seen as ‘normal’. This phenomenon is very unhealthy, and it’s not something I wish to ignore.”
Grace has launched a seven-day ‘Women Transformation Bootcamp’, which will run on the weekends of August and September.
The bootcamp will include lessons on make-up, hairstyling, fashion styling, poise, movement and stance, and communication. It is recommended to women aged 21 to 45.
Grace will lead the bootcamp alongside professional instructors, and keen participants will have to fork out HK$18K (S$3.1K) for the entire course.
“After being in showbiz for 17 years, I hope to tap on the knowledge, experience, and resources I’ve gained to equip all women with the ability to be the best versions of themselves! They [should] know how valuable, beautiful, and precious they are,” added Grace.
We wonder how popular the bootcamp will be among women in Hong Kong?
