You’d think that after the tragic Itaewon Halloween crowd crush people would be more careful and mindful when navigating through congested areas. But it seems these fans of JJ Lin haven’t learnt a thing.
On Oct 5, the 43-year-old Singaporean singer performed at the IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, and his fans reportedly started queuing outside the stadium from 7am just to buy one particular piece of concert merchandise, a teddy bear named Mini Mist Blue Bear.
Sales, however, was only scheduled to start at 11am.
Fans jammed the entrance way before that, and they all swarmed into the venue — pretty much like what you’d see in a zombie apocalypse — once the guards opened the gates.
Some fans were said to have fallen amidst the chaos and almost resulted in a stampede.
A fan also took to her socials to recount the situation that day.
“There were those who fell and a bunch who lost their shoes and clothes. People really went all out just for that fat bear,” she wrote.
Is it really worth risking life and limb for a stuffed toy?
