Fans Want A-Mei’s Stylist Fired After Singer Gets Fat Shamed Over Concert Outfit

At her recent concert in Hangzhou, critics of Taiwanese singer A-Mei critics had a lot to say about one of her outfits.

The 52-year-old was dressed in a turquoise-coloured dress with multiple ruffles across the front and skirt. It was paired with a huge black coat that seemed to add extra bulk.

Umm… what was her stylist thinking to make her appear larger than she is?

The chilly Hangzhou weather might explain the coat but that couldn’t have been the only jacket lying around, right?

The singer started becoming the butt of mean jokes online with many comparing her to the full-figured Shiji Niang Niang aka Lady Rock in animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2.

It seems A-Mei was also not thrilled with her outfit as well and was heard pleading with the audience, “Don’t post my ugly pictures online!”

This isn’t the first time A-Mei has been mocked about her body and fluctuating weight though its clear that the negativity still stings.

As if the comparison to an animated demon isn’t hurtful enough, some netizens also suggested she looked like a chocolate matcha Swiss roll.

Some of A-Mei’s fans hit back at the mean jokes and said the blame lies with her stylist and not the singer.

“That person who dressed A-Mei should be fired,” read a comment while another said, “It is her voice that matters. Who cares about her weight?”
