Fujifilm consolidates data to integrate AI into operations – Data and Analytics

Japanese conglomerate FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation (Fujifilm) has consolidated data to make data-driven decisions, improve business intelligence, and prepare to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into operations.

It has migrated data from over 90 core systems, including enterprise systems and applications, and 20-plus SAP ERP systems.

The company is leveraging Informatica’s AI-powered Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality solutions.

The MDM solution enables Fujifilm to manage data domains, including product codes, sales, inventory, and business partner data, focusing on improving data quality and consistency.

The aim is to centrally manage and utilise the data across departments and company divisions globally.

Fujifilm’s senior manager of the ICT strategy department, Takaharu Furusho, said Informatica’s solution has enabled the company to visualise data generated daily from global operations through a unified, cross-functional view.

This adoption has contributed to the management’s ability to use trusted data to operate efficiently and make data-driven decisions to unlock valuable insights,” said Furusho.

Fujifilm shifted from a component-based strategy with specialised systems for each department to a platform-based solution to optimise data management.

Instead of migrating core systems, it has opted to create shared functions to meet the entire group’s needs.

Informatica Japan’s country manager and president, Taito Kozawa, said, the company enables Fujifilm to establish a single view of data across the entire group of businesses.

The training and support from Informatica allow ICT employees to develop in-house solutions and gain essential data management skills.

The ability to make modifications without coding and test the system with minimal effort has helped the company.

It plans to advance self-service business intelligence (BI), integrate AI into management decision-making, and improve data utilisation.
