Singapore’s Gardens By The Bay has been named eighth best attraction in the world on Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards Best Of The Best 2024.
Rated 4.5 out of five stars from over 60,000 reviews, the tourist destination has been described by travellers as “well worth the visit” and “mesmerising”.
Gardens By The Bay joins the ranks of world-renowned attractions such as New York’s Empire State Building (No 1), Paris’s Eiffel Tower (No 2), the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam (No 3) and Barcelona’s La Sagrada Familia (No 4).
The home to Cloud Forest and Flower Dome edged out Milan’s Duomo di Milano and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque at ninth and tenth spot, respectively. It is also the only attraction in Asia in the Top 10.
Other Asian attractions cited in the Top 25 were Cambodia’s Angkor Wat (12th), Mutianyu Great Wall in China (19th), India’s Taj Mahal (22nd) and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine in Kyoto, Japan (24th).
The awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor between Apr 1, 2023 and Mar 31, 2024.
Gardens By The Bay’s award is no mean feat as the winners of the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best Of The Best represent fewer than 1 per cent of the eight million listings on Tripadvisor.
