Danny Summer (夏韶聲), 71, is one of Hong Kong’s biggest rock icons, best known for his hits ‘The Empty Chair’, ‘Jiao Cha Dian’, and ‘Never Give Up’.
The rocker, who also appeared in TVB dramas in the ’90s including Detective Investigation Files Series (1995), A Recipe for the Heart (1997), and Burning Flame (1998), has kept his showbiz appearances to a minimum in recent years.
He, however, regularly takes to YouTube to share about his hobbies, music, and his family.
Danny recently attended his grandson Kyle’s primary school graduation ceremony. Sharing pics from the day on Instagram, he wrote: “It’s my first time being in his school in six years, thank you to all [Kyle’s] teachers.”
Danny looked super youthful in the snaps. From his appearance and style alone, one would never be able to guess that he is already in his 70s. In fact, he received compliments from many for “looking like Kyle’s dad”.
He was even said to be “in better condition” than the dads who were present at the graduation ceremony.
Danny has been seeing a 35-year-old woman for the past 14 years. Although not much is known about her, Danny has said that he is the happiest he’s ever been in his current phase of life.
Danny was married four times.
He tied the knot with his first girlfriend at 19, and they were married for 10 years. His second marriage with an American lady lasted three years. He was then married to a Chilean woman for 13 years.
He initially thought his fourth marriage to a wealthy Vietnamese-Chinese woman, Tina, would be his last. Alas, the couple split after eight years.
Danny once said that “four times is enough”, and he doesn’t wish to get married a fifth time.
