Those who watched new Pixar movie Inside Out 2 would definitely see themselves in one or more of the characters.
After all, the movie is meant to let audiences come face to face with their deepest emotions.
Hong Kong singer Keung To, however, took this a step further.
Earlier this week, the 25-year-old member of Hong Kong boyband Mirror, took to Threads and Instagram to share two side-by-side photos of himself and Embarrassment, a new character in the sequel to the 2015 blockbuster.
Embarrassment is a bashful, chonky pink character who hides in a grey hoodie whenever he’s flustered. He is one of the five new emotions introduced to the new release, alongside Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Nostalgia.
Keung To first compared Embarrassment to one of his own viral images — a not-so-glamorous picture of him with a double chin taken during a helicopter ride. Coincidentally, Keung To was also wearing a grey hoodie in that picture.
In the second pic, Keung To donned a similar hoodie over his head, just like Embarrassment whenever he feels, well, embarrassed.
On Threads, Keung To told netizens to “stop sending [him] these photos,” while insisting on Instagram, “We don’t look alike at all.”
Not surprisingly, his fans disagreed.
Instead, fans began fawning over how much Keung To resembles Embarrassment, and even said he’d be the “best person” to voice the character in Hong Kong.
Some also praised the idol for laughing at himself.
“I’m so impressed by his sense of humour!” effused one netizen.
It’s worth noting that this is the same guy who was named “third most handsome face in the world” by TC Candler and The Independent Critics in their 2023 ‘The 100 Most Handsome Faces’ list.
