It seems many Asian celebrities are still reeling from the recent abduction and release of Chinese actor Wang Xing near the Myanmar-Thailand border,
This time, Hong Kong actors Keith Mok,42, and Michael Tao, 67, were in the spotlight for visiting Cambodia with about 10 bodyguards.
While we think it is a little excessive, we get the extra precaution.
Keith and Michael arrived in Cambodia on Monday (Jan 21), and according to Keith’s Instagram, he posted regularly to update everyone that he was safe.
From being picked up at the airport, to being driven around in a fancy Rolls-Royce, Keith also shared that his driver was from the military.
He even said that was staying at an “internationally renowned” hotel.
To further alleviate the worries of his fans, he also assured everyone that the 10 bodyguards were there during his performance.
Keith has publicly said the recent abductions made him a little scared to visit Cambodia and had asked a friend who owns a factory there about the safety there.
According to his friend, the areas he and Michael were scheduled to visit were safe and not as scary as people make it out to be.
However, unlike Wang Xing’s experience, Keith says the job was introduced by an acquaintance whom he met while performing in Malaysia.
He also said that being there with Michael made him feel more confident.
But we are guessing he was not convinced enough to stay in Cambodia for long and returned to Hong Kong after just one night.
