If you haven’t already heard, acclaimed Indian singer-composer AR Rahman will be returning to Singapore for a concert after a decade.
Titled A Rahman Rhapsody, the concert, which will showcase the musician’s greatest hits, takes place at the National Stadium on Aug 31.
The Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer last played here in 2014 at Gardens by the Bay.
Tickets – priced between $148 and $398 – don’t go on sale until Jul 7, but members of Mediacorp’s melisten platform can enjoy a 10 per cent discount and priority to presale tickets.
To participate, simply register at melisten.sg or via the melisten app by 11:59pm on Jul 2.
Registered users will receive a unique link via e-mail on Jul 4 which can be used for the pre-sale event which starts at 10am on Jul 5 on Sistic.
Each transaction is limited to eight tickets, and the discount applies for VIP to Cat 4 tickets.
In his 30 year-career, Rahman, 57, has produced soundtracks for more than 140 films spanning Hollywood, Bollywood, and Kollywood.
He propelled to international stardom with his work on Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire (2008) which won him two Academy Awards: One for best original score and another for best original song.
Some of his famous pieces were also featured in 1992’s Roja, 2001’s Lagaan, and 2006’s Rang De Basanti.
