Huang Xiaoming Bows In Apology After Addressing Controversies Surrounding Influencer Girlfriend

In September, Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming, 46, confirmed that he’s dating influencer Ye Ke, 32.

However, in the short span of time that followed, Ye Ke gained infamy for saying questionable things on her live streams.

She flaunted her wealth, lied about her family background, criticised Taiwanese rock legend Wu Bai, and called David Tao’s ‘You Will Marry Me Today’ “a disgraceful song”.

She was also accused by her ex-husband of cheating.

She received plenty of backlash from netizens, and last month, she announced that she would cease posting content online.

Safe to say that Xiaoming hasn’t had a moment of peace since going public with his relationship.

Last Friday, while attending a promotional event for his new movie, A Cover-Up, Xiaoming took the opportunity to apologise for Ye Ke’s controversies.

He said: “I’m really sorry. I’m very sad and regretful, but I don’t have a solution for this. I’ve seen all the messages that people have been sending me. I will definitely deal with my personal matters, and work hard at my job, filming more good movies for everyone. Again, I would like to say that I’m sorry.”

Xiaoming’s voice trembled slightly as he spoke. He then bowed in apology for 15 seconds.

His co-stars comforted him with pats on his back, and he was also cheered on by those present at the event.

Here’s hoping he’ll never have to do that again.
