On June 2, Influencer Koey Har took to TikTok to share about an unfortunate injury she got after going down the tube slide at Changi Airport Terminal 4.
“You have to be super careful while playing this,” said Koey, who posts travel and fitness content on her page.
According to Koey’s Instagram story, she was in transit waiting for her flight to Bali last Sunday (May 26) when the accident occurred.
In the clip taken from her point of view, Koey could be seen going down the slide while squealing in excitement. However, not two seconds later, she sped up, lost a slipper in the process before a loud ‘clunk’ was heard.
Turns out, she hit her head against the slide, resulting in a nasty gash on her scalp.
The accident happened at 3.10pm, and the boarding time for Koey’s flight was scheduled at 3.40pm. As such, she did not have time to look for a clinic.
Thankfully, she was able to get help from a flight attendant when she boarded her plane. The flight attendant went on treat Koey’s injury with some cotton gauze and antiseptic solution. She also didn’t forget to remind Koey to “tahan” the pain.
While treating the wound, the flight attendant could be heard repeatedly apologising to Koey.
“What does this teach us? You can be playful, but you [also] need to watch out for your safety,” laughed Koey. “Also, if you want to get special treatment on your flight, do visit the tube slide at T4.”
While many netizens sympathised with Koey, others believed that the injury could have been avoided if Koey had just laid flat while going down the slide.
Koey would later address the incident on IG as well. Despite the incident, she maintained that the slide was “really fun” and also urged other travellers keen to try the slide to “wear covered shoes” and “lie down”.
