Most of the time, we see parents urging their kids to find someone to settle down with.
But for former Mediacorp actress Jacelyn Tay, it’s the opposite.
Earlier this week, the 49-year-old, who is now a health coach, took to her Instagram to share a conversation she had with her 13-year-old son Zavier while at church.
Zavier is Jacelyn’s son with ex-husband Brian Wong, whom she divorced from in 2018.
“There was an announcement that prayer meeting for lifetime partner is coming up. Interested party could sign up. My son stealthily laughed,” she wrote.
She then asked Zavier: “Why? You wanna go?”
“No. I thought you can go,” he replied sincerely.
While that must have been a really reassuring moment for her, Jacelyn went on to explain that she’s, in fact, not looking to start a relationship at the moment.
“Well, I am truly a happy single now,” she explained. “I would like to stay like that and patiently wait for the special one to appear. So, no rush,” she laughed.
Two years ago, Jacelyn also shared that she’s been enjoying singlehood since her divorce.
However, she did quip then that it would “be nice” if she had a partner to go for 5am grocery runs with and also candidly asked on her socials: “Which man wakes up so early?”.
Guess Jacelyn just hasn’t found her fellow early bird yet.
