Jacky Cheung Apologises For Hoarse Voice During Hangzhou Concert, Assures Fans He Will Not To Sing Fewer Songs

From falling on stage due to dizziness to contracting Covid-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Heavenly King Jacky Cheung has had a series of health issues while on his 60+ Concert Tour.

Since kicking off his tour in June 2023 in Macau, the Hong Kong star has performed 153 shows to date. The tour is slated to end in Taipei next April.

Sadly, the 63-year-old’s voice turned hoarse during his performance in Hangzhou last Sunday (Jul 22), sparking concerns that his strenuous tour has taken a further toll on his health.

While chatting with the audience, Jacky admitted that he was facing some issues with his voice and was “very happy to have made it this far”.

“Today, because of some issues with my voice, my concentration was affected. There were times when I got distracted thinking about how to sing and sometimes forgot how to dance. I would like to apologise to everyone here again, I’m sorry,” he said with a slightly hoarse voice before bowing in apology.

He thanked fans for their continuous support and humorously assured them: “Apart from drinking more water, I won’t sing fewer songs.”

Jacky will return to Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre for six more shows from Jul 26-28 and Aug 2-4, before travelling to Shenzhen.
