Can you imagine how honoured one would feel to be personally thanked by the God of Song Jacky Cheung during his concert?

It’s why local songwriter Lee Wei Song had to take to his Instagram to document this surreal moment at the 62-year-old Heavenly King’s The Jacky Cheung 60+ Concert Tour in Beijing over the weekend.

The video started with Wei Song and his fellow songwriter twin brother Si Song, both 55, standing up to wave at the crowd at Jacky’s show presumably after the singer performed ‘A Thousand Reasons For Sorrow’.

The song, which was released in 1994, was written by Wei Song.

“I just happened to be singing this song today. So… I’m not performing it specially for you guys,” quipped Jacky.

“It’s just coincidental, but I also want to thank you for writing such an amazing song,” he added, before giving a 90-degree bow.

Later that night, Jacky also performed another of his iconic hits ‘Wait Until Flowers Wither’, which was also written by Wei Song.

Needless to say, that was a night to remember for Wei Song.

“[I’m] thankful to have met [Hong Kong music producer] Michael Au who’s the reason behind the song ‘A Thousand Reasons For Sorrow’. More importantly I want to thank everyone for continuing to love this song,” wrote Wei Song in his caption.

“This is the best gift for my 40th anniversary in showbiz,” he gushed.
