Webtoons, novels and a Swedish drama are being adapted in Korea, with several big-name K-drama stars mulling over offers to lead these upcoming dramas.
1. Good Girl Boo Se-mi
Vincenzo actress Jeon Yeo-been is being courted to star in the romantic comedy Good Girl Boo Se-mi for the cable channel ENA.
Jeon has been offered the title role of Boo Se-mi, a poor bodyguard who winds up having to completely change her image and identity when she enters into a contract marriage with the terminally ill chairman of a chaebol – a Korean family-run corporation.
The drama has been scripted by Hyun Gyu-ri, who wrote the acclaimed big-screen period drama The Night Owl.
Recently seen in A Time Called You, Jeon will next be seen on the big screen in January in the highly anticipated The Priests sequel Dark Nuns alongside Song Hye-kyo. She is also expected to appear in the small-screen romance Our Movie alongside Namkoong Min next year.
2. Love Me
Seo Hyun-jin (Why Her?) and Dahyun, a member of the K-pop outfit Twice, have been linked to the coming drama Love Me, an adaptation of the Swedish comedy-drama series of the same name.
