People are usually happy to bump into stars, but that didn’t seem like the case for those who met Hong Kong singer Karen Mok in Guangzhou recently.
According to a video shared online, the 53-year-old star was seen taking photos along the streets of Dong Shan Kou.
Obviously, the gorgeous Karen, who was dressed in an eye-catching hot pink coat, had crowds flocking to catch a glimpse of her.
However, her crew didn’t seem too pleased with the attention and started chasing the passersby away.
As usual, netizens are pissed off even though they were clearly getting in the way of the shoot.
“How dare she? She thinks she can get special privilege?” ranted one netizen.
Another said: “Why do these people think they can ask people to make way. It’s as if she thinks the street is her house?”
A netizen also slammed Karen for expecting people to accomodate her photoshoot. “Only you need to work, others don’t?” he wrote.
Thankfully, many of Karen’s fans stepped up to defend her.
“The pathways in Dong Shan Kou are exceptionally narrow. Perhaps the crowd already extended onto the roads and were blocking the cars and the crew had to maintain order so as to not obstruct traffic,” explained one such netizen.
Meanwhile, a fan said: “Karen Mok has never been an artiste who puts on airs.”
So was the star misunderstood or did her staff go full Karen?
