Leon Lai Praised For Singing Dance Tracks While Seated

Heavenly King Leon Lai is probably the only star who can get away with performing fast tracks while sitting down – and still get praise for it.

A fan recently shared a video of the Hong Kong singer performing dance hit ‘Jing Qing De Ai’ at his Guangzhou concert.

Dressed in a blue tux, Leon, 57, sang almost the entire song while seated on stage, as dancers grooved energetically in front of him.

We’ve got to say, despite the lack of movement by Leon, who would at most bop and tap his feet to the music, the performance was still very entertaining.

And netizens thought so too, with many singing praises for the star, saying he was pitch perfect and “steady like a CD”.

“Sitting down to sing dance tracks, his voice hasn’t changed at all, still as much of a gentleman as ever, rarely talks, rarely drinks water, finishes on time, no encore, no off-pitch, steady like a CD,” said one impressed fan.

Others even commented that Leon is so charming, he could lie down and sing if he wanted or “just lie down and not sing – still works”.

Um, not sure we would want to pay to see him do that.

Leon’s ability to captivate the audience while singing seated has become sort of his trademark.

He refrains from dancing as he doesn’t look good doing it.

But that’s not to say that he is totally opposed to the occasional boogie.

For him, it’s all about “timing and feeling”.

If he’s in the mood, he’ll pull out all the stops and then some, like that rare time in Macau where he showed off some nifty moves.

“Whether I get the chance to dance or not is like encountering a ghost. It all depends on fate,” he said.
