Linda Chung Surprised Guangzhou Concert Sold Out In 1 Sec, Says She’s “Been Passé For 10 Years”

After an eight-year hiatus, Hong Kong star Linda Chung is relaunching her singing career.

The 40-year-old announced her return to the limelight when she made an appearance at an event for an insurance brand in Hong Kong last weekend.

She has been busy preparing for her solo concert in Guangzhou on August 10 and hopes to perform in Hong Kong too.

“I have been constantly working out, memorising lyrics, and practising dancing… It’s my first performance, and I hope to do my best,” she shared.

The former TVB actress has kept a low profile since 2016 after marrying her chiropractor husband Jeremy Leung, 52, and relocating to Vancouver to start a family. They have three kidsKelly, eight, and Jared, six, and one-year-old Anika.

Linda said her concert has been a long time coming as she felt an obligation to her fans.

“I have felt a bit sad since getting married, not because of the marriage itself, but because I suddenly disappeared [from the spotlight]. You have a responsibility as an idol and role model. Why didn’t I become a primary school teacher? Because as a performer, I can influence more lives. If I suddenly disappear, they will be unhappy, so I want to return to the stage,” she revealed.

Well, her fans couldn’t be more thrilled about her comeback.

Tickets to her Guangzhou concert sold out in a flash  one second, to be exact — and no one was more surprised than Linda herself.

In fact, before tickets went on sale, she was worried that no one would come to the show.

I thought to myself, ‘Oh no, I seem to have been passé for 10 years, will anyone come?’ I was really scared, no kidding,” she admitted.

“After the tickets sold out in one second, I couldn’t believe it at that moment. Then I felt relieved and told myself that regardless of the ticket sales, it would not affect my performance.”

It’s not just singing, Linda is ready to fully return to work and is open to anything, hosting, dramas, films, and plays, you name it.

She made her small screen comeback in TVB drama Kids’ Lives Matters in 2021 and was nominated for Best Actress for her role.
