The family of Dan Fogelberg has listed the late “Leader of the Band” singer-songwriter’s Maine property for $2,425,000.

Tucked on the shore of Gray’s Cove off Eggemoggin Reach in Deer Isle, which Fogelberg famously wrote about in his song “The Reach,” the 5.5-acre property at 48 Oak Point Road boasts 800 feet of beachfront and embraces the beauty of the natural landscape by combining stunning waterfront views with New England charm. The three-bed, five-bath (two full, three half) luxury home, which measures 6,575 square feet, was completed in 2004. Fogelberg died in 2007, but his widow, Jean, continued to live in the home.

“Coming inside, it feels like you’re going into a house that has lots of stories and history. Their personalities are there, and they loved being there,” said Jill Knowles of The Christopher Group, who has the listing. “It really has this wonderful old soul feeling.”

A gravel driveway leads up to the circular drive in front of the home, where a welcoming front porch greets you. There is also a porch on the opposite side of the home facing the water. An entrance hall boasts impeccably crafted woodwork. Despite being built only 20 years ago, an air of history remains.

To the left is the living room, which has a cozy nook in the corner suited for reading or listening to music.
