Another former member of K-pop group EXO seems to be caught up in controversy after a controversial live stream session on Chinese social media platform Weibo.
On November 29 last year, Chinese actor-singer, Lu Han reportedly intoxicated, appeared on a live stream cursing at his critics, even making a rude middle finger gesture.
The 34-year-old was even heard scolding netizens asking, “How dare you talk in front of me?”
He even challenged social media platforms and said, “Super moderator, please block me if you have the guts!”
The hour-long live stream also saw Lu Han debuting a drastically different look from his previously pretty boy image.
Wearing a hoodie, Lu Han sporting multiple studs and earrings on his ears, nose, and lower lip.
He was also seen playing EXO’s popular holiday track, ‘The First Snow’ and asked if he could play it before giving a dry smile, saying, “I don’t care about SM anymore. Anyway, Lee Soo Man left too. Sorry, because it’s snowing in Beijing, let me play it.”
SM is his former agency SM Entertainment and Lee Soo Man, the company’s founder.
Netizens were taken aback by what they saw, with many criticising the ‘1:1’ singer for his inappropriate behaviour.
When will these people learn that using social media while drunk never turns out well?
This isn’t the first time Lu Han has been seen allegedly intoxicated in public.
In 2022, a clip of him appearing tipsy and needing help to be escorted to the car went viral.
Since the incident, Lu Han’s accounts on Weibo, Xiaohongshu and Douyin have been reportedly blocked, citing reasons related to “violating laws and regulations or community norms.
Lu Han has issued a statement apologising for the incident. He also pledged that he would impose stricter self-discipline in the future.
He even promised to demonstrate his remorse to everyone through concrete actions.
We are guessing the alcohol has finally worn off.
Lu Han was discovered by SM Entertainment in 2010 and debuted as a member of EXO in 2012.
However, he, along with fellow member, Kris Wu, left the band in 2014 after falling out with their management agency, SM Entertainment.
They even filed contract termination lawsuits against them for unequal treatment compared to the group’s Korean members.
