Popular Chinese drama Amidst a Snowstorm of Love might have aired its finale on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14) but it seems fans aren’t exactly happy with how the show panned out.
Amidst a Snowstorm of Love is about a former professional snooker player who meets a fellow pool player during a blizzard and ends up falling for each other.
But according to certain censors, the stars of the drama, Leo Wu, 24, and Zhao Jinmai, 21, might have acted a little too well.
The two had many of their kissing scenes cut from the show.
Originally slated for 38 episodes, the drama ended up only broadcasting 30.
Waitaminute… how did they still manage to finish up the storyline with eight missing episodes?
In fact, the source material by author Mobao Feibao was said to include bolder plotlines but was also cut due to censorship guidelines.
Understandably, producers might also be worried that the drama would get completely banned should they do anything that crosses the line.
To work around the restrictions, the official Weibo account of Amidst a Snowstorm of Love has released multiple short videos of those scenes for fans to enjoy.
Or should we say, missed out?
For example, a scene titled ‘The Classic Sofa Kiss’ showed Leo picking up Jinmai to sit on his lap before kissing passionately while on the couch.
However, the same scene was zoomed out in the drama, which left audiences crying foul for not knowing they had made out so passionately.
