In the episode, Tai stuck a sign on Singaporean singer Huang Jinglun with the words “no culture”, “no attractions” and “super boring” before claiming that “Singapore stole Hainanese chicken rice, bak kut and char kway teow and Nyonya kueh from Malaysia”.
He then went on to state that tourists need not “stay longer than three days in Singapore” as the country’s attractions, including Gardens By The Bay and Jewel’s Rain Vortex were “man-made”.
Tai received a wave of criticism for his comments with some claiming he had “an inferiority complex” with others calling him an “attention seeker”.
