Mario Ho, Scion Of One Of HK’s Richest Families, Praised For Buying Uniqlo Underwear

Who said rich people only buy expensive things?

Recently, a netizen took to Threads to share that they had bumped into Mario Ho, the son of late Casino King Stanley Ho, in Japan.

“I once saw Mario and his wife Ming Xi at an Uniqlo in Tokyo. They bought a huge bag of AIRism underwear,” wrote the netizen.

A quick check on the Uniqlo website shows that each pair of AIRism underwear retails at S$14.90.

Mario, 29, was also said to be wearing Uniqlo from head to toe.

“He really is different [from other billionaires],” praised the netizen.

It’s not the first time Mario was spotted in Uniqlo.

In a previous photo shared by a netizen, he was seen in a S$18 T-shirt from the brand’s PIXAR Collection.

In case you’re wondering, Mario owns e-sports company Jingweiwu Group, and is the Chairman and co-CEO of NIP Group, making him the youngest founder of a Nasdaq-listed company in Asia.

Mario is also a known math genius. He won Hong Kong’s national maths championship title twice and is an alum of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Despite coming from one of the richest families in Hong Kong — the Ho family has an estimated US$13bil (S$17.7bil) net worth — Mario has made it clear that he does not want to be reliant on his family’s wealth.

He reportedly once told his wife: “Don’t see me as an heir who has a credit card with no spending limit, because I won’t take money from my family. I’m not that type of person.”

Previously, Mario said he hopes to be worth US$100mil (S$136mil) when he turns 30.

Just imagine how many pairs of Uniqlo underwear he can buy.
