When asked if Michael minds her revealing outfits, he replied: “It’s not about whether I like it or not — the most important thing is that she likes it. It’s her choice and her freedom.”
“Should she wait until she’s 60 to wear what she wants? No big deal! I just tell her to make sure she looks good and doesn’t embarrass herself,” he said.
Phoebe, who has inherited her parents’ looks and acting talent, has been making waves as an actress in both Canada and Hollywood. Her mum is former actress Jamie Chik, 63.
Phoebe was once invited by TVB her to compete in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, but she declined, choosing instead to carve out her own career path.
Michael said that Phoebe is doing well for herself in Canada and he would occasionally travel to visit her.
“It’s just that she didn’t choose to work here. The competition in Hong Kong is tough, and in Canada, she’s competing with foreigners instead. Since her Chinese isn’t very good, she avoids situations where it would be a disadvantage,” he said.
Apart from Phoebe, Michael and Jamie also have a 32-year-old son, Murphy.
