Here’s what happened.

Mickey Huang Sentenced to Eight Months’ Jail for Possession of 2,259 Contents of Child Porn

On Tuesday (3 December), Taiwanese comedian Mickey Huang was charged under Taiwan’s Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act. He was sentenced by the Taipei District Court to eight months in jail.

His offence? Possessing child porn.

Huang was found to be in possession of not one, not two, but 2,259 pieces of explicit content. These contents involved at least 35 minors between the ages of 10 to 17.

Additionally, while Huang claimed that he “did not know the law”, the judge, of course, threw this out.

I mean, you can’t get away with every law you break just by saying you “did not know the law” mah…

Huang was also fined NT$100,000 (S$4,130) for possessing 48 explicit contents of underaged girls. However, his fine can be converted into community service.

Of course, Huang can still appeal the case — so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Mickey Huang Bought Child Porn from Pornographic Online Forum Over a Period of 10 Years; Used Child Porn to Destress

The next question is this — how did Huang even manage to get his hands on thousands of such contents?

The 52-year-old had apparently purchased the child porn from pornographic online forum “Creative Private Room”, a forum notorious for the explicit content peddled on it. The comedian had started purchasing child porn from the forum from as early as February 2014.

That means that Huang had been purchasing child porn over a period of ten years.

According to the Taipet District Court, Huang also confessed during the investigation that he had bought the child porn to destress.

How the Taiwanese Comedian’s Possession of Child Porn Was Revealed

But how exactly did the authorities even find out about Huang’s possession of child porn? Well, it’s simple.

If you recall, back in 2023, the Taiwanese #MeToo movement exploded after an Internet celebrity, Zofia, accused an unnamed Taiwanese celebrity of sexual assault. Specifically, Zofia shared that when she was merely 17 years old, the unnamed celebrity had kissed her without her consent.

Three years later, the same unnamed celebrity invited her to his hotel room, where he asked her to remove her top.

Lo and behold, that unnamed Taiwanese celebrity turned out to be Mickey Huang.

It was later revealed that Zofia was not the only victim at the hands of Huang — many others were as well.

During police investigations into the sexual assault allegations against Huang, the police stumbled upon hundreds of explicit contents purchased by Huang, including explicit content of minors.

And that’s how Huang found himself where he is now lah — sentenced to eight months in jail.
