We can only imagine how fulfilling it must be for teachers to be appreciated by their students.
Nur Insyirah, a 29-year-old teacher from Johor Bahru’s Mohd Khalid Secondary School, took to TikTok last weekend to unbox a gift — lipstick from YSL Beauty —from a student.
She was so excited to find her name engraved on the case, she giggled and bounced up and down in her seat, clearly touched by the student’s thoughtful gift.
Her 40-second video has since garnered over one million views, with netizens gushing over how sweet the student is, and how genuinely thrilled she looked.
In an interview with Malaysian media WeirdKaya, Nur Insyirah shared she had received many birthday gifts from her students, but she has never owned a YSL lipstick as “it’s quite unaffordable”.
She said that seeing her name engraved on the lipstick made it “even more special and surprising”.
Nur Insyirah also addressed the handful of people who accused her of flaunting her gift. She explained that her colleagues had encouraged her to film her reaction so she could “capture the sweet memory”. She did not expect her TikTok to blow up the way it did.
