A Malaysian woman was left horrified when she found glass shards in the iced coffee she purchased from a coffeeshop in Petaling District, Selangor.
She shared on Facebook that she had purchased five packets of coffee to-go, and they all contained glass fragments.
The woman had just got home when she noticed two of the packets were leaking, hence she transferred the drinks into a separate container before consuming them.
That was when she spotted the sharp, transparent shards, which could have easily been mistaken for broken ice cubes.
Shocked, she posted photos of the glass shards in a Facebook group, asking: “What should I do?”
According to Malaysian media, the woman later returned to the coffeeshop to alert them of the incident. However, the staff refused to admit fault.
The woman speculated that a glass cup might have shattered near the ice bucket, causing shards to fall into it. Instead of discarding the ice, staff continued using it.
Her post quickly gained traction, with netizens expressing anger and concern over the incident.
Many called for her to reveal the coffeeshop’s name to prevent further harm, while others urged her to report the case to the police.
“This could have caused a very dangerous accident,” they said.
The woman has since filed a police report and the case is undergoing investigation.
