Celebrity doppelgängers are nothing new, but it’s rare to find one who is still an infant.
Recently, a six-month-old Korean-Filipino baby boy named Kim Suho went viral after netizens noticed how much he resembles BTS’ V aka Kim Taehyung.
A video comprising photo comparisons of the baby and V has been circulating online. In the caption, it said: “This baby is going viral for looking similar to Tae. He also has one mono and one double eyelid like Tae.”
It noted that Suho’s birthday falls on Dec 29, a day before V’s, and like the BTS member, the baby “also sleeps with his eyes open sometimes”.
The video, which was posted on Monday (May 27), has been flooded with comments, with many expressing how envious they are of Suho’s mum.
“Which god did she pray to create her own Tae Tae baby?” asked one netizen while another commented that Suho’s mum “must have been thinking and watching only Tae” during her pregnancy.
There were also fans who began questioning Suho’s relationship with the K-pop idol.
“Someone is lying about the daddy,” wrote one netizen, while another joked: “Husband shocked wife rocked”.
Another quipped: “Ehhhhh…… Tae we need an explanation… (sic)”.
There was one particular comment that caught the eye of Suho’s mum, who is known by her Instagram handle lyngierkim.
The fan commented on lyngierkim’s Instagram, writing: “Please tell me you don’t have any relationship with Taehyung. Give a real statement, this [can] be very detrimental to Taehyung.”
The rude fan even snarked that she “could have reported this to [V’s management] agency (HYPE)”, while tagging BTS’s official Instagram account.
This prompted lyngierkim to write a post to clarify her baby daddy’s identity the next day.
Sharing old photos of another baby as well as a screenshot of the aforementioned comment, lyngierkim wrote: “Suho’s father. He is around 50 years old and he doesn’t want to post his current pictures or videos here on Instagram so I decided to upload childhood pictures of him.”
“I’ve seen negative comments but this comment is inappropriate. Jokes are jokes but they can actually damage careers and lives,” she warned.
She added that Taehyung deserves to be respected as he is a “very kind and popular man” who “worked hard to be successful.”
“If you really are a fan of Kim Taehyung you should protect his image. Once again, Suho is not related to Taehyung. Please respect everyone’s life,” she urged.
