Need dating advice? Ask psychic Deborah Graham – clairvoyant matchmaker can tell if you’re meant to be and spot potential soul mates, as well as red flags

Recently returned from Australia, where she had given a workshop, she is preparing for another in San Francisco in the US.

Graham had a television show – Psychic Matchmaker – that was broadcast worldwide some years ago as well as a radio show, which late last year became a podcast. Psychic Matchmaker is still rerun in many markets and is available on Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.

Everything started from a gift she says goes back three generations.

“My grandmother had the gift, my mother, and me,” she says. “I started seeing visions when I was six. I’d have dreams and premonitions. Because I come from an intuitive family, it was invited in.

“My mother always encouraged me, and would say, ‘that’s spirit talking to you’. It’s a blessing and a curse.”

Still, she stumbled into being a psychic matchmaker almost by chance.

I will never give someone what they think they want to hear. Because most of the time what they want and what they need are two separate things.

She used to give readings to a man who had lost his wife, and who confided in Graham about how lonely he was. She was also working as a healer to a woman whose husband had died.

She scheduled back-to-back appointments for them one day, they got to talking, a coffee date ensued – and the couple married.

“They were together for 10 years. On his death bed, he told me I had given him the best 10 years of his life. He said this was my calling. At that point, the psychic matchmaker was born. I didn’t find it. It found me.”

So while she continues to work with her clients on all manner of personal and professional matters, including career questions and health concerns, Graham has fallen into a niche of being a love expert, but one with probing psychic skills.

“People come to me for clarification about whether the person they are with is the right match for them,” she says of her readings, which cost US$250-US$500..

“For me, it’s like going through a body scan. It takes me 30 seconds to see if someone is with their true partner or soul mate.

I can’t turn it off. Things just come.

“I tap into their energy and then I can validate what they may or may not know. And I will never give someone what they think they want to hear. Because most of the time what they want and what they need are two separate things.

“Or sometimes, if they are single, I might have a match for them in my database. Because when I tune in, I can see all the red flags, and I will give you the good, the bad and the ugly.”

That effusive, candid approach is borne out on Graham’s podcast, where callers are given a five-minute free reading about any aspect of their lives, not just romantic.

On a recent one, a caller asked about how her family could heal from a recent tragedy, without going into specifics. Graham pinpointed the tragedy – it was an apparent suicide – and revealed other significant (and true) details.

“I can’t turn it off,” she says. “Things just come. I was out somewhere and I looked at this girl and saw that she had just lost someone. She burst into tears, and said her grandmother had just passed. And then I told her there was a child around her, and she’d just had a baby, and I told her there would be another.

“Spirit tells me things. Many of us have that gift, but most of us don’t listen.”

She has a book in the works, a follow-up to 2018’s Psychic Deborah Graham’s Guide to Attracting and Keeping Your True Love: A Must-Have for Women … and Men! She says most of the dating advice offered in it remains true today, especially in a world of dating apps and transitory alliances.

She has what she calls her “rule of threes”: when initially seeing someone, arrange to meet them at least three times in three weeks – not allowing too much time to lapse between dates – and wait three months before consummating a relationship.

She advocates not always meeting in bars or restaurants, but to go to a zoo or engage in other activities, to leave your phone behind and to not talk about former relationships too early on in a new one.

“These are things that people already know,” she says. “I guess it’s just my role to remind them.”
