Newton MRT Station Cleaner Writes Chinese Calligraphy With Mop

This shows you can find art in the most unexpected of places.

In a video posted by Xiaohongshu user @杰斯说okk, a cleaner at Newton MRT Station was seen writing Chinese calligraphy with his mop as he cleaned the stairs.

At Exit B of the station, he painted with water “Today is 23-12” in Mandarin.

We’re left wondering if the date, December 23, has any special significance to the cleaner or if it was just a spontaneous choice.

Commuters passing by were intrigued, with a few whipping out their phones to capture the moment as they rode the escalator.

One netizen cheekily wrote, “Is he indirectly telling us the upcoming winning 4D number?”

This isn’t the first time the cleaner has shown off his water calligraphy skills.

Earlier this year, TikTok user @jyen.joy posted a video in which the cleaner made her day by writing “prosperity 0404.”
