From injuring his pinky last month, to a controversial miscommunication with Hong Kong boyband Mirror, 2023 for Singapore superstar JJ Lin has been interesting, to say the least.
This time, JJ is making news for taking issue with a recent TikTok video that edited his concert footage using a remix of a traditional Chinese tune to spoof his dance moves to his hit song ‘Immortal Body’.
The edited clip quickly drew attention online with one commenting that it was too funny just to watch it once.
One person who definitely didn’t find it funny was JJ himself who quickly showed off his displeasure on social media saying that these people who place background music over his performance footage should “just scroll Tiktok”.
He also wrote “please don’t come to my concerts next time…” before ending off with the #nothankyou and #norespect.
Aww… Why so serious, JJ?
However, many of his loyal fans agreed with him and took to social media to defend their idol with one saying such videos can be considered “emotional bullying” while another wrote that “… you can make fun of his bangs… but you have to respect his work and be kind when making jokes.”
Another said such comments are not funny for someone “who respects music very much.”
