Police Search for Missing Husband After Woman’s Body Found Near Sydney Airport

A woman’s body was recently found near Sydney Airport. The woman had been missing since late November.

But that’s not all there is to the story. The woman’s husband has also been missing since late November, and police are currently searching for him as well.

Woman’s Decomposed Body Found in Bushes Near Sydney Airport

Earlier this month, the Parramatta police area command received a report of a missing woman. The woman, 33-year-old Zhuojun “Sally” Li, had been missing since late November, and her mother was unable to reach her.

On Monday (9 December), the woman’s decomposed body was found wrapped in plastic in some bushes at Sir Joseph Banks Park, a park near Sydney Airport. Li’s body was found by a runner.

The authorities have since informed Li’s mother of the discovery.

Authorities Seize the Car Believed to Be Used to Transport the Woman’s Body

So, what do we know about the woman’s strange death thus far? Well, not much — aside from a suspicious car seen on CCTV.

According to Homicide Squad commander Danny Doherty, a car potentially connected to the woman’s death has been seized. Between 4 am and 5 am on 30 November, a silver Toyota Avensis was seen stopping on the northern side of Foreshore Road.

Huh? Foreshore Road is simi?

For those of us who aren’t familiar with the land down under, Foreshore Road is a road bordering one side of Sir Joseph Banks Park, where Li’s body was found.

The authorities believe that the car was used to transport Li’s body. The seized Toyota Avensis is currently being forensically tested.

The authorities are also urging anyone with dashcam footage or information about the seized Toyota Avensis to come forward.

Deceased Woman’s Husband Also Missing Since Late November

Strangely enough, the deceased woman’s 33-year-old husband is also missing — Jai-Bao “Rex” Chen has been missing since late November.

While Li hailed from China and Chen hailed from Taiwan, the couple had been staying together in a rental apartment in Australia for more than two decades.

Chen doesn’t appear to have left Australia, and his family in Taiwan has confirmed that he was not in Taiwan either.

So, where Chen is is currently still a mystery. Police are still searching for the 33-year-old.

While police have yet to rule out that Chen might have been involved in his wife’s death, they believe that a third party related to the couple may have harmed them.

Chen has had some “minor issues in the past”, but none of them strongly indicate that Chen was mixed up in any organised crime or wrongdoing. There is also no history of domestic violence between the couple.

So, we’ll have to wait and see what investigations reveal lah.
