Putien restaurants to absorb GST and waive service charge at all Singapore outlets

The Singapore brand started in 2000 and specialises in Fujian cuisine. Its flagship Kitchener Road outlet was awarded one Michelin star in 2016, which it held on to until 2023.

The chain now has more than 100 branches around the world.

The group’s catering kitchen, Pu Tien Services at Senoko South Road, was suspended on Jul 31 along with another caterer, Yun Hai Yao at Northpoint City, after a mass food poisoning incident on Jul 30 at TikTok owner ByteDance’s office.

Pu Tien’s suspension was lifted on Aug 10 after it “implemented the required measures as stipulated” by the Singapore Food Authority (SFA).

The caterer said in a statement that food samples from the food delivered to ByteDance’s office on Jul 30 were sent for independent third-party laboratory testing and analysis. The results “confirmed that all the food samples met the food safety regulations established by SFA” and that “both listeria and salmonella, bacteria known to cause food poisoning, were not detected in any of the samples”.
