If you’ve been scrolling through social media the past few days, you would have been bombarded by tons of posts raving about Taylor Swift’s first two shows at the National Stadium.
One of those people who were at the concert was Mediacorp host Quan Yifeng.
The 50-year-old star was at Day 2 show with her daughter, China-based local actress-singer Eleanor Lee, 24, who is an unabashed Swiftie.
Taking to Instagram to document the concert, Yifeng wrote: “My daughter took me to watch Taylor Swift The Eras Tour in Singapore, but all I saw was [Eleanor’s] willpower to make it [to the concert].
“She couldn’t sleep the night before because she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to squeeze into the venue. She started preparing at 2pm in the afternoon and didn’t eat anything until halfway through the concert,” recalled Yifeng.
Mind you, Eleanor already had VIP passes to the show.
The host continued: “I asked if she was hungry and she told me she was thirsty. As a mum I braved through the crowd to get her a drink, and I bought her a hotdog bun while I was at it”.
That was exactly when Yifeng realised just how much her daughter is obsessed with Taylor.
In a separate post shared by Eleanor, who had manifested watching Taylor’s concert since she was in primary school, the young star shared that she gobbled up the whole hotdog bun in five seconds because she was “so scared to miss out on anything [during the show]”.
Eleanor, who said she only started writing music because of Taylor, also added that she is “pretty sure this is the closest [she] could ever get to Taylor” but that’s “more than enough” for her.
The entire experience left Yifeng feeling quite humbled.
“This is the first time I saw my daughter with such a strong will to live. I’m really… starting to wonder where I stand in her heart…. I’ve never seen her so dedicated and hardworking,” she wrote, with two laughing emojis.
