Netizen Cherlin recently spotted a lone rooster loitering outside a McDonald’s located at Springleaf Tower, looking like the perfect posterboy for the fast-food chain.
In her video, she wrote in the rooster’s POV: “Excuse me, did you see my family? If you do, can you please give me some clues as to where they might be?”
She then wished the rooster would “be able to reunite with its family soon”.
The irony isn’t lost on us that the rooster is hanging out right outside a McDonalds, where you can find plenty of chicken nuggets, the McChicken, the Chicken McCrispy… you catch the drift.
Well, the rooster might get the chance to meet its family again someday, just not in the way it’s expecting.
Many were tickled by the scene, with some calling it “tragically comical”.
One netizen recalled that a foreign worker once caught a rooster they saw in public and was fined S$500 for it. “You can buy a year’s worth of chicken from the supermarket with that money,” they laughed.
Free-roaming fowl can often be spotted in neighbourhoods like Tiong Bahru, Kembangan, and Pasir Ris, and sometimes, they venture out into the CBD areas of Tanjong Pagar and Telok Ayer.
According to another picture posted by Cherlin, the rooster was still in the same area that evening, but this time, at a traffic crossing near Telok Ayer MRT.
Perhaps it’s looking to cross the road.
