Shawn Thia Responds To Comment That He Looks Like Lawrence Wong By Looking Just Like Our Next Prime Minister

Do you think Singapore’s next Prime Minister Lawrence Wong looks like local actor Shawn Thia?

According to a netizen, the two look uncannily alike.

Lawrence Wong is set to be sworn in as Singapore’s fourth Prime Minister come May 15.

In a video posted to TikTok, the 28-year-old actor responded to a comment that he “100% looks [like] Lawrence Wong…”

“Guys, you think this is funny meh? You say I look like Lawrence Wong?” asked an indignant Shawn as gestured to his face.

After saying he was going to prove otherwise, the My One and Only actor proceeded to style his hair like Lawrence, donning a pair of glasses while mimicking his signature grin.

Now, we want to know if Shawn is able to imitate the Lawrence’s reassuring voice as well?

The video has since garnered more than 146,000 views with netizens obviously tickled by the video flooding the comments.

“Lawrence Wong: The Musical,” commented an online user.

“Maybe you can play him in his biopic in 30 years,” wrote a netizen.

Some of Shawn’s celeb pals also took shots at how he looked like the minister in the comments.

“Lawrence Wong Pro Max Plus,” wrote local singer Benjamin Kheng.

Shawn’s fiancé, Xenia Tan threw in a hilarious comment writing, “Who am I marrying?” which also garnered a thread of responses.

One wrote, “You married [the] most important guy in Singapore”.

Ah Boys to Men actor Maxi Lim even threw in an idea, “We can do a Lawrence Wong x Edwin Tong .”

Many have commented that Maxi bears a resemblance to the Minister for Culture, Community, and Youth.

We are keeping our eyes peeled for that then.
