On Sunday (Jul 21), Taiwanese singer Show Luo held his ‘Bu Jian Bu San’ fan meet in Hangzhou. The event, which was open to the public with free admission, was attended by a thousand fans.
This was the 44-year-old’s first public event in the Mainland since 2020, the year his ex-girlfriend, Chinese influencer Grace Chow, openly condemned him for being a serial cheater.
Though he eventually made his showbiz comeback in Taiwan in 2021, Show remained blacklisted in China.
For this comeback event, the star brought gifts from Taiwan for members of his international fan club SFC, who flew in from different countries.
During the event, Show didn’t sing or dance. Instead, he played games, chatted, and took photos with his fans.
Show was also surprised by his team of dancers from 2019 Chinese reality competition Street Dance of China S2, who showed up with a cake to celebrate his birthday.
Show turns 45 next week, on Jul 30.
Their appearance also left Show in tears.
Previously, the star had promised his team that he would invite them to dance at his concerts after the competition. However, because of the scandal, he did not manage to fulfill his promise.
“I owe them [a performance],” he said tearfully, before turning to his fans and repeating: “I owe you guys too.”
While fans are already hoping that Show can one day hold a concert in China again, some netizens are not ready to let bygones be bygones.
One such netizen wrote: “People are too forgetful. He’s making a comeback just like that?”
“Even Show Luo can hold a fan meet in China, did the Internet forget everything [that he did]? Is it not important for celebrities to have good moral character anymore?” asked another.
