Organisers of the Singapore Airshow revealed that there have been emails from scammers who claim to possess the information of trade visitors to the trade show.
Trade visitors are of this airshow are aerospace and defense industry professionals, government delegations, and accredited media.
These attendees generally seek new product ideas, trends or potential suppliers or buyers in their industry. During trade shows, they also network with others and attend seminars or workshops.
In a notice posted on the Singapore Airshow website for trade visitors, organisers said the information is purportedly being sold at a fee.
Organisers assured all visitors, delegates, exhibitors, and partners that they take data protection seriously and confirmed that the Singapore Airshow has not, and will not, share visitors’ data in accordance with their data protection and security policy.
Their data protection and security framework has been certified under the Data Protection Trustmark (DPTM) by Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) and ISO27001, the international standard in information security management.
Organisations certified with DPTM have sound data protection policies and practices to manage and protect users’ personal data, in accordance to the certification framework.
ISO27001 is a tool for risk management, cyber-resilience, and security across all supports. The information security management system is a documented management system consisting of security controls that protect assets’ confidentiality, data integrity, and availability from threats and vulnerabilities.

“These scammers do not have access to the data that they are claiming to possess. We also recommend that you do not reply nor engage with them” the notice says.
“If you are contacted by anyone claiming to have access to the Singapore Airshow database, attendees or contact information, please do not respond to their message. Instead, please forward a copy of the communication to [email protected].”

Singapore Airshow
The ninth edition of the Singapore Airshow will run from 20 to 25 February 2024.
Admission to the trade show (21 to 23 February) is open to trade professionals only (i.e. the trade visitors mentioned avove), but members of the public are welcome to buy tickets to visit on public days aka Weekend@Airshow (24 and 25 February).
Tickets can be bought online at $17 for children aged 3 to 12 and $34 for adults.
Note that there will be no on-site sale or physical collection of tickets, car park labels or group packages at Changi Exhibition Centre and Singapore Expo.
The trade show will have forums, exhibitions, flying displays, award ceremonies, workshops and more.
During the trade show, exhibitors will showcase their products and services, seeking sales and partnerships. Over 500 companies from countries like the United Kingdom, the United States, China, and France will be present as exhibitors.
On public days, you can marvel at flying displays, collect signatures from talented pilots, get up close and personal with a spectacular line-up of commercial aircraft and military jets, and more!
