Siti Nurhaliza, 45, is widely known as one of Malaysia’s wealthiest and most successful pop stars.
While she is able to afford life’s luxuries, the star recently revealed that she bought only one new outfit for this year’s Hari Raya celebrations.
“Ever since having my two children, I’ve shifted all of my focus to them. As a mother, it’s enough for me to buy just one new set of clothing. If I can still wear my old clothes, I will, but I have to wear a new outfit on the first day of Hari Raya,” said Siti in an interview with mStar.
The singer tied the knot with Malaysian entrepreneur Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa in 2006. They have a six-year-old daughter and a three-year-old son.
Siti also said her new outfit, a grey and blue ensemble, was picked out by her husband, and that she chose to go with it as she “doesn’t keep up with fashion trends”.
Outfit aside, the star also shared that a must-have dish for her family during Hari Raya is ketupat duan palas, a traditional Kedah delicacy. The dish is specially ordered by her mother-in-law.
“For the past three years, besides preparing my favourite serunding and nasi impit, I have also been working hard at cooking chicken rendang,” she added.
Although she has a variety of delicacies to feast on during this Hari Raya period, Siti still places plenty of importance on working out and watching her weight.
“After one month of fasting, we can’t [overeat]. I’ve been watching my diet since my last concert (on Mar 9). Through exercise and doing Muay Thai, I’ve successfully lost 8kg,” she said.
