For the past year, we’ve been eagerly looking forward to TVB celeb couple Kenneth Ma, 49, and Roxanne Tong’s wedding. And it’s finally happening.
According to reports, the couple, who got engaged in Jan this year, will be tying the knot in a Southeast Asian country (yes, some things are still kept secret) in December and only 80 guests will be invited.
Yesterday (Nov 29), Roxanne, 36, took to her Instagram to share their guo da li ceremony. In case you dont know, guo da li is an old Chinese tradtion in which the groom visits the bride and her family and showers her with gifts as a show of his sincerity.
“Another milestone completed. Who knew guo da li was so complicated. I was rather shocked that day,” wrote Roxanne.
She continued: “Thank you Mr Ma for your love and all our brothers and sisters for helping.”
Kenneth definitely went all out.
From the pics, we could see a variety of dried seafood — including abalone, sea cucumber and fish maw — as well as trays of wedding cakes from Kee Wah Bakery spilling from the table.
Then there’s the gold, so much gold jewellery in the shape of pigs, dragons and phoenixes.
Roxanne gushed: “This is the first time in my life I’m seeing dragon and phoenix bangles that look like a meteor hammer (an old Chinese weapon). And there were many piggies. They were so pretty and spectacular.”
And sincere. Don’t forget sincere, Roxanne.
