The South Korean football squad have arrived in Singapore ahead of their highly-anticipated World Cup Qualifier match against The Lions. And boy, did they receive a warm welcome.
The sold-out match is set to take place at the National Stadium this Thursday (June 6) at 8pm, and is expected to feature English Premier League stars Son Heung Min and Hwang Hee Chan.
A viral TikTok shared by user @hanmabooboo yesterday (June 3) sees the Korean football squad arriving at Changi Airport and exiting the transit area one after another.
The clip caught the attention of many fans, with a handful gushing over the sight of the opposition team’s star player, and everyone’s favourite football oppa Son Heung Min.
“Omg, we are breathing the same air Sonny!” gushed one netizen.
Some also wondered about the absence of the team’s forward, Cho Gue Sung, who gained popularity for his good looks during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Sadly, the hunky 26-year-old striker is not listed in the team’s current rotation.
Another YouTube video featuring the Korean squad’s arrival also captured a crowd gathering to welcome the players.
Cheers could be heard as the players made their way through the barricaded area to the exit, with a few pausing to acknowledge their fans.
The videos have further served to build up excitement for the clash between the South Korea and Singapore’s National Football team.
