If you’ve ever dated a guy when he was in National Service, you’ve probably heard more NS stories and jargon than you care to listen.
But how much of what they say do you remember?
An NSman decided to test his girlfriend, 23-year-old TikToker Aly (@pookeymice), one day and she shared a video of their quickfire Q&A on her socials.
Overlaid on the video was the caption: “POV: Him testing to see if I’ve been listening for the past 2 years.”
The quiz started with simple questions like “Who do I report to directly?” and “What does PC stand for?”, then progressed to the more challenging like “What’s the gun I use?” and “What guns do normal people use?”.
If you’re wondering, she got three gun-related questions correct.
And out of the 15 questions, Aly only got one wrong.
We can’t believe that she actually paid attention to him when he talked about NS.
While her boyfriend sounded impressed, Aly tells 8days.sg that she was not surprised that she aced the quiz as she enjoys listening to him talk about NS and is “really attentive”.
“He usually updates me on his day… and when we meet after he books out, he will talk about [NS] too. That’s why I’m already used to the terms and processes,” shares Aly.
“It doesn’t bore me… I genuinely want to listen,” she continues, adding that her boyfriend will ORD this year.
You would think most netizens would be amazed by Aly’s knowledge and interest in NS, but majority of the comments were about how “pretty” she is.
“I was kinda disappointed because they strayed away from the point of the video,” she laughs.
