S’porean Foodpanda Rider Wins ‘Public Holiday Hustler’ Award, Works 12-13 Hours, 6 Days A Week

During the ceremony, he was given a sash with his newly minted title, a new delivery bag, a goodie bag, long-sleeved Foodpanda shirts, a raincoat, and a S$250 cash prize.

According to one of Xiao Wei’s posts, he’s been awarded for his outstanding performance for three consecutive years.

He has since received an outpouring of encouragement from netizens celebrating his achievement.

Responding to a commenter who encouraged him to get a “different, better job”, Xiao Wei revealed that his current gig as a Food Panda rider is “temporary” and that he was using the opportunity “to become someone better” and not “go back to [his] old ways for the sake of family and others”.

He also wrote: “I achieve nothing as an addict. But okay lah, it’s always a step to something else better. I never consider this as forever. (sic)”

Others told him to “keep the hustle going” and to “keep up the good work”, while also acknowledging that being a delivery rider is by no means an easy job.

“Don’t forget to drink more water!” read one sweet comment. Just good vibes all around.

Perhaps we could all use this as a reminder to be thankful to delivery riders, and to show appreciation for them in the ways that we can.
