Sunny Wang Won’t Do A Heart Pose ’Cos He Says It’s “Sissy”, Someone Finds An Old Pic Of Him Doing That Exact Pose

Fans would often ask their idols to strike cutesy poses with them when they get a photo opportunity.

But if you’re a fan of Taiwanese-American actor Sunny Wang, you might want to think twice before asking him to do so.

Recently, a fan took to her Xiao Hong Shu account to share a video she took of the 41-year-old star at a promotional event for his new movie GATAO: Like Father Like Son.

In the video, the fan had raised her hand up hoping to form a heart with Sunny, who was walking past her, only for the star to tap her hand away instead.

“Baby you’re so unromantic,” she lamented in her caption.

Sunny saw the video, and even left a reply for the fan.

“It’s not that I’m not romantic, I just won’t do such a sissy pose,” he wrote, adding that he also isn’t willing to use beauty filters on his photos.

Sunny’s remark, which reeked of toxic masculinity, quickly caused an uproar online, and even became a trending topic on Weibo.

The Taiwan Gender Equity Education Association also openly berated the actor for his insensitive comment. They said his act of “being himself” would cause many others, who don’t fall under what society deems as a ‘mainstream gender’, to not be able to “be themselves”.

On top of that, the association asserted that the star does not have to put others down to be himself.

Then came the internet with receipts.

Last night (Aug 19), a Taiwanese YouTuber named Martin took to his Facebook to share a photo of Sunny at an event for chocolate brand Godiva in 2015.

And guess what the star was doing in the photo?

Forming a heart-shape sign with his hands.

“Us sissies won’t bother you anymore,” scoffed Martin in his caption.

Many netizens were turned off by Sunny and his double standards, with some commenting that the star just slapped himself in the face.
