Taiwanese Actor Tries To Save Money By Not Turning On Air Con At Home, Ends Up With Heatstroke

With electric bills rising, many of us refrain from using the air conditioner at home during the day to conserve energy and save money.

While it’s no doubt a good idea, you might want to reconsider braving the heat especially during these soaring temperatures.

Taiwanese actor Hsuan Feng, also known as Cookie Feng, recently shared on talk show Hello Doctor that he fainted from heatstroke at home all because he was trying to pinch some pennies.

As his apartment is on the top floor, it gets extremely hot during the summer.

One day, in a bid to save electricity, he decided not to turn on the air conditioner as he was about to head out in 30 minutes.

He shut himself in the room watching TV, but soon felt his vision “becoming increasingly blurry” and subsequently passed out in his chair from the heat.

Thankfully, his parents decided to check on him and found him unconscious.

According to Hsuan Feng, the house felt like a sauna and his parents tried to cool him down before taking him to the hospital for an IV drip.

“I had just completed my military service and thought I could withstand the heat. Even though my consciousness was fading, I thought there was something wrong with the TV,” he said.

Hsuan Feng thinks he likely fainted because he did not open the windows, causing the temperature in his room to soar.

Fortunately, he wasn’t wearing a shirt, so his parents could bring down his body temperature quickly by applying alcohol.
